D.School Workshop

Design Thinking Workshop: From Insights to Innovation offers the chance to learn the basics of design thinking — a human-centered, prototype-driven process for innovation that can be applied to product, service, and business design. We believe that innovation is necessary in every aspect of business, and that it can be taught.

This session will be led by OTA CEO Hugh Weber and special guest, Ludvik Herrera.

Ludvik Herrera is an award-winning designer, photographer, computer scientist, and user experience designer. He is IDeaspace's creative director at NDSU, where he practices and facilitates the design thinking methodology to foster innovation and collaboration in students, faculty, staff and community at large. His focus is in the areas where technology, innovation, and creativity crosspaths with design thinking through discerning human-based aesthetics.

Ludvik earned his bachelor’s degree from the Monterrey Institute of Technology, Mexico. He has worked as a graphic designer, webmaster, photographer, and creative lead for public and private companies and organizations on projects in the US, Mexico, China, England, Japan, Romania, and Russia. His editorial and fashion photography has been published internationally in books, magazines and online. He teaches and mentors in diverse areas of graphic, interactive, web and user experience design, photography, and video production. Ludvik enjoys cultural exchange, banter and conversations about subjects such as typography, photography, architecture, science, and fashion.

This workshop is sponsored by OTA, a creative collaborative offering extraordinary experiences and engagements that educate, empower, and serve as catalysts for community-builders and change agents to improve the lives of all people living in South Dakota, North Dakota, and Minnesota.
